Synthetic Rubber

Synthetic Rubber, also known as synthetic elastomer, is a highly elastic synthetic polymer. It is one of the three major synthetic materials, and its output is only lower than that of synthetic resin (or plastic) and synthetic fiber. Its properties vary with different monomers, and the properties of a few varieties are similar to those of natural rubber. The properties of a few varieties of synthetic rubber are similar to those of natural rubber, and most of them are different from natural rubber, but both of them are highly elastic polymer materials, which generally need to be vulcanized and processed before they have practicability and application value. Generally speaking, the price of natural rubber is more expensive, so in order to reduce the cost, low-cost synthetic rubber is widely used, with excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, corrosion resistance, insulation, air tightness and so on. it can be used normally between minus 60 degrees and 250 degrees, but the tensile effect of synthetic rubber is poor, anti-tear strength and mechanical properties are also relatively poor. It is widely used in industry and agriculture, national defense, transportation and daily life.

According to the state of the finished product, synthetic rubber can be divided into liquid rubber, solid rubber, latex, powder rubber, etc.; according to the formation process can be divided into thermoplastic rubber, vulcanized rubber, most synthetic rubber belongs to vulcanized rubber; according to the use characteristics can be divided into general-purpose rubber and special rubber. Universal rubber refers to the rubber that can partially or completely replace natural rubber, mainly used in the manufacture of tires and general industrial rubber products, with great demand, such as styrene-butadiene rubber, cis-polybutadiene rubber and so on. special rubber is a kind of rubber with the characteristics of high temperature resistance, ozone resistance and aging resistance. it is used for special occasions that require certain characteristics, such as silicone rubber.
