According to Vietnam’s National Statistics Office, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) increased by 10.8% year-on-year in the first six months of 2026, while manufacturing and processing grew by 11.4%. Industrial Parks Move Towards Circular Water Management

Vietnam’s industrial parks are moving beyond conventional wastewater treatment towards greater efficiency, monitoring, and water reuse, taking advantage of technology development. For example, chemical manufacturing factories pose challenges due to wastewater streams that may require neutralization, chemical treatment, and careful operational control. This demonstrates the diverse technology requirements of chemical manufacturing – from technically certified water to a toxic materials removing process.

A more specific example is the industrial wastewater reuse pilot implemented at DEEP C in Hai Phong under the Accelerating Circular Economy for Businesses (ACE-Biz) project, with the participation of UNDP Viet Nam and the Embassy of the Netherlands. The pilot applies membrane filtration and reverse osmosis (RO) technologies to demonstrate the feasibility of treating and reusing industrial wastewater. In July 2026, Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment reported that the pilot system operating at Dinh Vu Industrial Park (DEEP C1) could reuse approximately 1,000 cubic meters of water per day. Such initiatives demonstrate emerging opportunities for providers of wastewater treatment, membrane technologies, water recycling, monitoring, automation, and resource-efficient equipment.

Motivation From The Government And Factory Development

The shift towards more sustainable industrial development is also reflected in Vietnam’s national policy direction. Under Decision No. 1894/QĐ-TTg, approving Vietnam’s Environmental Industry Development Programme for 2025–2030, the country aims for wastewater treatment technologies, equipment, and products to meet 70–80% of domestic demand and exports by 2030. The programme also promotes environmental monitoring equipment, technology development and international investment in the environmental industry.
