삼산화 황

삼산화 황은 상온에서 무색에서 흰색의 결정성 고체로 존재하며, 여러 가지 다형성 형태를 갖는다. 삼산화 황은 휘발성이 매우 높으며, 공기 중에서 수분과 급격히 반응하여 강하게 연기를 발생시킨다. 그 융점은 16.8 °C이고 끓는점은 45 °C이다. 삼산화 황은 무기 산화물이며, 특히 황산의 산무수물인 주요 산성 무수물이다. 산업적으로 삼산화 황은 거의 전적으로 접촉법에 의한 황산 제조 과정에서 반응성 중간체로 사용되며, 이 과정에서 고농도 황산에 흡수되어 올레움을 형성한다. 삼산화 황의 주요 하류 용도는 황산 제조에 있으며, 이 황산은 비료 생산(예: 인회석 처리), 금속 가공, 화학 합성 등에 광범위하게 사용된다. 삼산화 황은 일반적으로 최종 제품 배합물에 직접 사용되지 않으나, 술폰화 화합물, 세정제, 염료, 의약 중간체 등의 대량 생산을 가능하게 한다.

Sulphur hexafluoride serves as a gaseous insulator in high-voltage electric installations. Sulphyryl fluoride is used as an insecticide and a fumigant.Sulfonation of organic compounds, especially nonionic detergents, solar energy collectors. It is usually generated in the plant where it is to be used.
