メシチレン

メシチレン（1,3,5-トリメチルベンゼン）は、無色透明の液体で、穏やかな芳香性のにおいを持ち、中程度の揮発性を示します。融点は−45 ℃、沸点は165 ℃です。これは芳香族炭化水素であり、対称的に置換されたベンゼン誘導体です。工業的には、メシチレンは主に樹脂、抗酸化剤および特殊化学品（例えば、酸化によるトリメルチル酸無水物の合成を含む）の化学中間体として用いられます。その用途は、ポリマー製造、塗料、および高沸点芳香族溶剤ブレンドにおける溶媒または希釈剤にまで及びます。また、特定の染料および農薬中間体の製造にも使用されます。
