Butyl acrylate Market share- How big is the Butyl acrylate market?

China, Germany, and the United States are the leading exporters of butyl acrylate, collectively accounting for over 50% of global exports in recent years; major importers include India, South Korea, and Mexico, reflecting strong demand from regional coatings, adhesives, and polymer manufacturing sectors. Import volumes into Southeast Asia and India have risen steadily since 2022, coinciding with moderate upward pressure on butyl acrylate prices amid tightening supply chains and feedstock cost volatility.

- April 22, 2026: Quote at RMB 11,050/ton, down RMB 200/ton (?1.78%) from the prior day.

II. Market Dynamics
- Regional Market Performance:
- East China Market: Trading sentiment remained moderate, with prices fluctuating upward. Following prior adjustments, supply-side pressure had eased, prompting some capital to enter for restocking; low-priced inventory diminished, and trading activity improved.
- South China Market: Negotiation activity was robust, with prices rising strongly. Reduced spot inventory stimulated inquiries; end-user buyers showed heightened interest, transactions were solid, distributor inventories were low, goods turned over smoothly, and quotations were actively raised.
- North China Market: Proactive negotiations gradually increased, and prices edged higher. Low arrival volumes prompted traders to enter the market; downstream demand remained stable, end-users maintained procurement requirements, transaction activity was brisk, distributor confidence improved, inventories were low, and goods turned over smoothly.
- Manufacturer Quotations:
- Northern Manufacturers: Supply shortages led to gradual price increases; mainstream quotations ranged from RMB 9,900 to RMB 10,200/ton.
- Southern Manufacturers: Smooth order fulfillment enabled modest price adjustments upward; mainstream quotations ranged from RMB 10,100 to RMB 10,600/ton.
- Supplier Quotation Disparities:
- Shandong Hongyang Chemical Co., Ltd.: Domestic origin, Shandong Province — RMB 8,300/ton.
- Aite (Zhejiang) Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd.: Domestic origin, Zhejiang Province — RMB 10,500/ton.
- Shandong Yushuo Chemical Co., Ltd.: Domestic origin, Jinan City, Shandong Province — RMB 12,100/ton.
- Hubei Qibajiu Chemical Co., Ltd.: Origin, Wuhan City, Hubei Province — RMB 6,000/ton.

III. Factor Analysis
- Supply Side: Northern manufacturers faced insufficient supply; overall market supply pressure had been relieved earlier, yet recent low arrival volumes in certain regions stimulated trader participation.
- Demand Side: Downstream demand remained stable; end-users maintained procurement requirements—particularly evident in South and North China markets—while in East China, some capital entered for restocking.
- Market Sentiment: Traders’ inventories remained low, alleviating selling pressure and enabling active quotation increases; distributor confidence strengthened, contributing to smooth turnover across regional markets.

IV. Analytical Assessment
- Short Term: Although current market trends appear stable, downstream demand remains in its seasonal lull, and year-end funding constraints are limiting upside potential. In the near term, the acrylic butyl ester market is likely to experience limited upward movement, with prices adjusting within a volatile range to absorb prior gains and seek a new supply-demand equilibrium.
- Long Term: Globally, the acrylic butyl ester market is projected to maintain an annual compound growth rate (CAGR) of 3%–5%. Key growth drivers include continued infrastructure development boosting demand for coatings and adhesives; environmental policies accelerating the transition from solvent-based to water-based systems (“oil-to-water”), thereby expanding the waterborne acrylic emulsion market; and rapidly growing demand in emerging markets—especially Southeast Asia and India.

V. Forward Outlook
- Price Outlook: Prices may stabilize amid short-term volatility; should downstream demand show no marked improvement, prices could continue to soften slightly or remain range-bound at relatively low levels. Over the long term, supported by expanding market demand and industry development, prices are expected to gradually recover.
- Supply-Demand Outlook: On the supply side, ongoing capacity expansion will further enhance market supply capabilities. On the demand side, growth in downstream sectors—including coatings and adhesives—will underpin the acrylic butyl ester market; however, the pace and magnitude of demand growth will be subject to macroeconomic conditions and industrial policy developments.

About Butyl acrylate

Butyl acrylate is a clear, colorless liquid with a characteristic pungent, fruity odor and moderate volatility; it has a boiling point of approximately 145–148 °C and a melting point near −65 °C. It is an α,β-unsaturated ester and belongs to the class of acrylic monomers. Primarily used as a reactive comonomer in free-radical polymerization, it imparts flexibility, adhesion, and weather resistance to acrylic resins. Its principal applications are in water-based and solvent-borne coatings, architectural paints, adhesives, sealants, and textile and paper finishes. It serves as a key building block for copolymers in latexes, emulsion polymers, and pressure-sensitive adhesives.

Intermediate in organic synthesis, polymers andcopolymers for solvent coatings, adhesives, paints, binders, emulsifiers.
Butyl acrylate is a colorless liquid with a sharp odor. It is readily miscible with most organic solvents. Butyl acrylate contains one of the following three inhibitors to prevent polymerization under recommended storage conditions:Hydroquinone (HQ) CAS 123-31-95Monomethyl ether of hydroquinone (MEHQ) CAS 150-76-5Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) CAS 128-37-0

This chemical is included in Basic Chemicals - Acid Esters. See more about what is Butyl acrylate and Butyl acrylate SDS information.
