Sodium chlorite is primarily used as a precursor for chlorine dioxide generation in water treatment, pulp bleaching, and industrial disinfection systems. It serves as a key intermediate in the production of chlorine dioxide solutions and finds application in municipal and industrial water purification, textile processing, and food processing sanitation.
