Carbonato de bario

El carbonato de bario es un polvo cristalino blanco e inodoro que no es volátil y se descompone por encima de 1300 °C sin tener un punto de ebullición definido. Es una sal inorgánica y el principal compuesto comercial del bario. El carbonato de bario sirve principalmente como precursor en la producción de otros compuestos de bario, incluidos el óxido de bario, el cloruro de bario y sales especiales de bario, y se utiliza ampliamente en la fabricación de cerámicas, vidrio y componentes electrónicos, tales como materiales dieléctricos para condensadores.
