p-トルエンスルホン酸

p-トルエンスルホン酸（PTSA）は、白色から黄白色の結晶性固体で、微かで特徴的な臭気を有する。揮発性はなく、吸湿性があり、融点は約106–107 °Cである。芳香族有機スルホン酸であり、広く用いられるブレンステッド酸触媒および試薬である。p-トルエンスルホン酸は主に、エステル化、アセタール形成、脱水反応などの有機合成において多用途な触媒および中間体として機能する。その主要な応用分野には、医薬品（例：医薬品原体の合成）、農薬（例：除草剤および殺虫剤の中間体）、染料、およびポリマー製造（例：ポリエステルおよびポリアセタール樹脂）が含まれる。また、コーティング材、接着剤、および特殊化学品の製造にも使用される。
