N,N-ジメチルアセトアミド（DMAc）は、透明で無色の吸湿性液体であり、特徴的なアミド臭をわずかに放ち、中程度の揮発性を示します。これは極性非プロトン性有機溶媒であり、沸点は165–166 ℃、融点は–20 ℃です。化学的には第三級アミドに分類され、高沸点・熱安定性に優れた溶媒および反応媒体として広く用いられています。主な産業用途には、アクリル繊維、ポリアクリロニトリル（PAN）膜、およびポリイミドやポリベンズイミダゾールなどのエンジニアリングプラスチックの製造が含まれます。また、N,N-ジメチルアセトアミドは、医薬品製造における重要な加工溶媒および合成補助剤、農薬製剤、染料およびコーティング剤の調製にも使用されます。

Currently it is used to synthesize a large number of antibiotics and pesticides in the pharmaceutical and pesticide. The catalyst can also be used for the reaction, electrolytic solvent, paint scavengers and various crystalline solvent adducts and complexes.Used as the reaction solvent of pharmaceutical synthesis, synthetic fiber spinning solvents and synthetic resins, photographic chemicals chromogenic agent solvents, paints and other solvents, catalyst.
NIOSH法2004。分析対象物：N,N-ジメチルアセトアミド。試料：空気。手順：ガスクロマトグラフィー／フレームイオン化検出器（FID）。N,N-ジメチルアセトアミドについて、本法の推定検出限界は0.05 mg／試料である。全体的な精度（相対標準偏差：RSD）は0.032であり、回収率は記載されていない。適用範囲：50 Lの空気試料を用いた場合、作業環境中の分析対象物濃度として10～80 mg／m ³の範囲が適用可能である。干渉物質：確認されていない。
