デカン酸

デカン酸は、室温で白色から淡黄色の結晶性固体であり、山羊や汗を連想させる微かで不快な臭気を有する。融点は31–34 ℃、沸点は270 ℃である。デカン酸は飽和直鎖脂肪族カルボン酸（C₁₀H₂₀O₂）であり、中鎖脂肪酸に分類される。工業的には主にエステル、金属石鹸（例：デカン酸塩）、可塑剤の合成における化学中間体として用いられる。その誘導体は、潤滑油、化粧品、抗菌剤、およびコーティング材やインク用ポリエステル・アルキド樹脂における共重合体または改質剤として広く利用されている。
