炭酸リチウム

炭酸リチウムは、白色で無臭の結晶性固体であり、非揮発性で水への溶解度はわずかである。それは無機塩であり、商業的に最も重要なリチウム化合物である。炭酸リチウムは、水酸化リチウム、塩化リチウム、リン酸鉄リチウムなどの他のリチウム化学品を製造する際の主要な前駆体として機能し、リチウムイオン電池に用いられる正極活物質の製造において不可欠である。また、ガラスおよびセラミックス産業では、溶融温度を低下させ、耐熱衝撃性を向上させるために使用されるほか、医薬品分野では特定の気分安定剤の有効成分としても利用されている。主な応用分野には、エネルギー貯蔵（電池材料）、特殊ガラスおよびエナメル、ならびに治療用医薬品が含まれる。
