Diethylenetriamine Market share- How big is the Diethylenetriamine market?

China, Germany, and the United States are the leading exporters of Diethylenetriamine (CAS 111-40-0), collectively accounting for over 50% of global export value in 2023–2024; major importers include India, South Korea, and Mexico, driven by demand from polymer, pharmaceutical, and agrochemical sectors. Import volumes in Southeast Asia and India have risen steadily since 2022, coinciding with moderate upward pressure on Diethylenetriamine prices amid tightening supply from key European producers.

Diethylenetriamine Market Analysis

Recent Market Dynamics Intelligence

1. Price Trends
- The domestic market price of diethylenetriamine has recently shown a narrow fluctuation pattern. The mainstream regional market price fluctuates around [X] yuan/ton, with a week-on-week fluctuation amplitude within [X]%.
- In some regions, prices have risen slightly due to tight supply, with increases ranging from [X] to [X] yuan/ton; while in some regions with weak demand, prices have seen slight declines, with decreases of approximately [X] to [X] yuan/ton.

2. Supply Situation
- The overall operating rate of domestic diethylenetriamine production enterprises remains stable, hovering around [X]%. Some large-scale enterprises are producing normally according to plan, and their supply volume can meet basic market demand.
- Recently, [X] enterprises have undergone short-term equipment maintenance, involving a capacity of approximately [X] thousand tons/year, leading to a local reduction in market supply. However, the overall impact is limited.
- Regarding imports, the import volume has decreased compared to the previous month, with a decline of approximately [X]%, mainly influenced by tight international market supply and increased transportation costs.

3. Demand Situation
- Downstream industry demand varies. The epoxy resin industry, as the primary consumption field for diethylenetriamine, has maintained an operating rate of around [X]% recently. Demand for raw materials is stable, but procurement is mainly on an as-needed basis, with little willingness for large-scale stockpiling.
- Demand in the surfactant industry has grown by approximately [X]%, primarily driven by the peak season for downstream daily chemical products, which has boosted the demand for diethylenetriamine.
- Demand in other sectors, such as pesticides and water treatment agents, has remained largely unchanged, with stable procurement continuing.

4. Inventory Situation
- Production enterprise inventory levels are at a medium-to-low position, with an average inventory duration of approximately [X] days, a decrease of [X] days compared to the previous month. Some enterprises have rapidly depleted their inventories due to good order volumes.
- Trader inventories have diverged: traders actively selling off goods have lower inventories, while those taking a wait-and-see approach hold relatively higher inventories. However, overall inventory pressure remains low.

Analysis and Judgment

1. Reasons for Price Fluctuations
- Local reductions in supply and decreased import volumes are the main factors supporting prices. However, the overall downstream demand has not seen significant growth, limiting the potential for price increases, resulting in narrow price fluctuations.
- Price differences across different regions are mainly affected by local supply-demand balance. Prices rise in regions with tight supply and fall in regions with weak demand.

2. Supply-Demand Relationship
- The current market supply and demand are basically balanced. However, local supply tightness may persist for some time. As maintenance enterprises gradually resume production, the tight supply situation is expected to ease.
- Although downstream demand shows some differentiation, the overall growth momentum is insufficient to provide strong support for prices.

Forecast

1. Price Trends
- In the short term, the domestic market price of diethylenetriamine will continue to maintain a narrow fluctuation pattern, with a fluctuation range expected between [X] and [X] yuan/ton.
- In the medium term, if the supply side returns to normal and downstream demand does not significantly improve, prices may experience a slight decline, with a decrease of approximately [X] to [X] yuan/ton.

2. Supply and Demand Changes
- On the supply side, as maintenance periods end, enterprise operating rates are expected to rise above [X]%, and market supply will gradually increase.
- On the demand side, demand in the epoxy resin industry is expected to remain stable, while growth in the surfactant industry may slow down. Demand in other sectors will remain largely unchanged, resulting in limited overall demand growth.

About Diethylenetriamine

Diethylenetriamine (DETA) is a colorless to pale yellow, hygroscopic liquid with a characteristic amine odor and moderate volatility; it has a boiling point of approximately 207 °C and a melting point near 8 °C. It is classified as a linear aliphatic polyamine and serves primarily as a chemical intermediate in organic synthesis. Its principal industrial applications include the production of chelating agents (e.g., EDTA derivatives), epoxy curing agents, and corrosion inhibitors. DETA is widely employed in polymer manufacturing—especially for polyamide and polyurea resins—as well as in agrochemicals (e.g., plant growth regulators and fungicide intermediates) and water treatment formulations.

Diethylenetriamine is manufactured by reacting ethylenedichloride and ammonia. It is used as a solvent, in organicsyntheses, and in a variety of industrial applications includinguse as a fuel component.
Diethylenetriamine is a corrosive liquid and a solvent(18, 139).

This chemical is included in Fine Chemicals - Adhesives & Coating Raw Materials. See more about what is Diethylenetriamine and Diethylenetriamine SDS information.
