Isodecanol (CAS 25339-17-7) is a colorless to pale yellow, low-volatility liquid with a mild, fatty odor. It is a branched-chain aliphatic primary alcohol, classified as an organic chemical intermediate. Isodecanol is primarily used in the production of plasticizers—especially diisodecyl phthalate (DIDP) and diisodecyl terephthalate (DIDT)—and as a precursor to isodecyl esters, sulfates, and ethoxylates. Its derivatives are widely employed in plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC), coatings, inks, lubricant additives, and industrial surfactants.
