Sodium dichloroisocyanurate Market share- How big is the Sodium dichloroisocyanurate market?

China and India are the leading exporters of Sodium dichloroisocyanurate, accounting for the majority of global supply, while the United States, Germany, and Mexico represent the largest importers. Sodium dichloroisocyanurate prices have remained relatively stable amid steady demand from water treatment and disinfection sectors. Exports from China have edged upward over the past two years, while Indian exports have plateaued, and U.S. imports have increased modestly despite flat domestic production.

Sodium dichloroisocyanurate Market Analysis

Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate (SDIC) Recent Market Dynamics Intelligence, Analysis, and Forecast

I. Market Dynamics Intelligence
Price Trends
Recently, the market price of sodium dichloroisocyanurate has exhibited moderate volatility, with notable variations across product specifications—including active chlorine content, physical form (e.g., granules vs. powder), and regional markets. From July 6–7, 2026, quotations from select enterprises in Henan Province were as follows:
- Henan Kaijie Water Treatment Co., Ltd.:
30% active chlorine, granular form: RMB 5,600/ton;
45% active chlorine: RMB 6,500/ton;
56% active chlorine, white granular/powder form: RMB 6,700/ton;
60% active chlorine: RMB 7,200/ton;
90% active chlorine (form unspecified): quotation not provided.
- Henan Huiyihai Water Purification Materials Co., Ltd.:
56% active chlorine: RMB 6,500/ton;
60% active chlorine: RMB 6,800/ton;
56% active chlorine (eco-friendly technology product): RMB 6,800/ton.
- Suzhou Senfeida Chemical Co., Ltd.:
Active chlorine content not explicitly stated (assumed standard grade): RMB 8,100/ton.

Supply-Demand Situation
- Supply Side: Production enterprises are predominantly concentrated in regions with well-developed basic chemical industries, abundant raw material resources, and convenient logistics—such as Shandong and Henan provinces. Overall market supply remains ample; however, production scale and product quality vary significantly among manufacturers. Leading enterprises benefit from economies of scale and demonstrate higher consistency and reliability in product quality.
- Demand Side: Sodium dichloroisocyanurate is widely applied in water treatment, sericulture and aquaculture, and sanitary disinfection. Ongoing global population growth and urbanization continue to drive demand for water purification and sterilization solutions, providing substantial long-term market potential. Notably, heightened public health awareness—especially amid recurrent public health emergencies—has significantly increased attention to and demand for this product.

II. Analysis and Judgment
Causes of Price Volatility
- Raw Material Costs: Key raw materials—including isocyanuric acid, liquid chlorine, and caustic soda—directly influence manufacturing costs. Recent fluctuations in raw material prices constitute a primary driver behind SDIC price changes.
- Supply-Demand Balance: Although overall supply remains sufficient, demand growth rates differ across end-use sectors. For instance, rapid demand expansion in water treatment and public health emergency response may exert upward pricing pressure in specific regional or application-specific markets.
- Corporate Competitive Strategies: Firms adopt differentiated pricing strategies aligned with their market positioning and competitive objectives. Some enhance product value through improved quality, specialized formulations, or added functionalities—justifying premium pricing—while others pursue cost leadership via scale-up, process optimization, and efficiency gains to capture volume-driven market share.

Industry Development Trends
- Technological Upgrading: Advances in chemical engineering continue to spur innovation in synthesis methods and production processes—enhancing SDIC yield, quality, energy efficiency, and environmental performance. Emerging techniques such as catalytic oxidation offer marked improvements in reaction efficiency while reducing energy consumption and pollutant emissions.
- Green Development: Increasingly stringent environmental regulations are compelling the SDIC industry toward greener, more sustainable practices. Enterprises must intensify environmental investments, implement cleaner production technologies, minimize emissions, and develop low-toxicity, residue-free next-generation disinfectants to meet evolving market expectations for eco-friendly products.
- Rising Market Concentration: Under dual pressures from regulatory compliance and intensified competition, technologically obsolete and non-compliant producers are progressively exiting the market. Consequently, industry concentration is steadily increasing. Market leaders—leveraging scalable operations, mature proprietary processes, and nationwide distribution networks—are consolidating their dominant positions.

III. Forecast
Price Trend Outlook
In the short term, SDIC prices will remain subject to fluctuations driven by raw material cost volatility, shifting supply-demand dynamics, and strategic pricing decisions. However, as market equilibrium gradually stabilizes and competitive intensity escalates, the magnitude of price swings is expected to narrow. In the longer term, technological advancements and sustained reductions in production costs are likely to foster price stabilization—or even modest downward adjustment.

Demand Outlook
Looking ahead, global economic development coupled with rising public awareness of health and environmental sustainability will sustain robust demand growth for SDIC in water treatment and sanitary disinfection applications. Particularly in emerging-market countries—where infrastructure modernization and public health system strengthening are accelerating—demand is projected to expand rapidly.

Industry Development Outlook
The SDIC industry will continue advancing along three key trajectories: technological upgrading, green development, and consolidation-driven market concentration. Enterprises will increase R&D investment to launch innovative products and advanced processes, thereby elevating quality standards and competitiveness. Concurrently, environmental governance and sustainability practices will be strengthened to ensure long-term viability. Mergers, acquisitions, and strategic integrations will become more frequent, enabling leading firms to broaden market share via capacity expansion, technology upgrades, and vertical/horizontal integration—ultimately optimizing industry structure and competitiveness.

About Sodium dichloroisocyanurate

Sodium dichloroisocyanurate (NaDCC) is a white or off-white crystalline solid with a slight chlorine-like odor; it is non-volatile, hygroscopic, and decomposes before melting (typically above 230 °C). It is an organic chlorinating agent and a stable sodium salt of dichloroisocyanuric acid. Primarily used as a disinfectant and sanitizer, NaDCC serves as a source of available chlorine in water treatment, swimming pool sanitation, and industrial cleaning formulations. Its main applications are in municipal and recreational water disinfection, healthcare surface decontamination, and food processing hygiene—where controlled, slow-release chlorine delivery is required. It is also employed in veterinary sanitation and household bleach products.

Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate (SDIC) widely applied for the sterilization of swimming pool and drinking water, or fighting against infectious diseases, or act as disinfectant in raising silkworm, livestock, poultry and fish. Other applications of SDIC are found in wool shrinkage, textile bleaching, and industrial circulating water cleaning. SDIC is normally supplied in powder and granular, tablets are also available on request. Stabilised chlorine granular (dichlor) are used very widely to chlorinate swimming pool water.
