N,N-Diethylaniline is a colorless to pale yellow liquid at room temperature with a characteristic aromatic odor and moderate volatility; it has a boiling point of approximately 215–217 °C and is immiscible with water. It is classified as a tertiary aromatic amine and widely employed as a chemical intermediate in organic synthesis. Its primary industrial applications include the production of dyes (especially triarylmethane and azo dyes), accelerators for rubber vulcanization, and catalysts or curing agents in epoxy resin systems. It is also used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and agrochemical intermediates, particularly where electron-donating amine functionality is required.
