シアヌル酸

シアヌル酸は、特徴的なにおいがほとんどなく、揮発性が低く、白色の結晶性固体である。シアヌル酸は沸騰前に分解するため明確な沸点は存在せず、融点は約360 °Cと非常に高い。これはヘテロ環状有機化合物（具体的にはトリアジン誘導体）であり、主に化学中間体として機能する。工業上の主要用途は、塩素を安定して放出する消毒・殺菌剤および浄水剤（例：トリクロロイソシアヌル酸など）の製造である。これらの塩素化イソシアヌル酸類は、プールや産業用給排水処理において広く用いられている。また、メラミン樹脂や、塗料・プラスチック用の特定の紫外線（UV）安定剤の合成にも使用される。主な応用分野には、水処理用化学品、ポリマー添加剤、および特殊農薬製剤が含まれる。
