ベンザルアセトン

ベンザルアセトン（CAS 122-57-6）は、室温で淡黄色からアンバー色の結晶性固体であり、穏やかで甘い香りを持ち、中程度の揮発性を示す。融点は約40–43 °C、沸点は約260–265 °Cである。これはα,β-不飽和芳香族ケトンに分類され、主に高機能有機合成における特殊有機中間体として用いられる。その主要な工業的用途は、チャルコン誘導体、紫外線吸収剤および医薬品活性成分（特に抗炎症作用および抗癌作用を有する化合物の合成経路において）の合成のための構築単位（ビルディングブロック）としての利用である。また、農薬、染料および機能性ポリマーの製造に用いられ、特殊コーティング材および光安定化剤配合物への応用も見られる。
