China and India are the leading exporters of Ethylparaben (CAS 120-47-8), collectively accounting for the majority of global shipments, while the United States, Germany, and South Korea represent the largest importers. Ethylparaben prices have remained relatively stable amid steady demand from pharmaceutical and cosmetic sectors. Export volumes from China have grown modestly over the past three years, while Indian exports have shown increased diversification into Southeast Asian and Latin American markets.

About Ethylparaben

Ethylparaben is a white to off-white crystalline solid with a faint, characteristic odor and low volatility. It is an aromatic ester, specifically the ethyl ester of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid, and melts between 115–118 °C. Primarily used as a preservative, it functions by inhibiting the growth of fungi, yeasts, and bacteria in aqueous formulations. Its main commercial applications are in personal care products (e.g., cosmetics, shampoos, lotions) and pharmaceuticals (e.g., topical preparations, oral suspensions), where it ensures product stability and shelf life. It is not typically employed as a chemical intermediate or in industrial sectors such as agrochemicals, polymers, or coatings.
