Praseodymium Oxide Market share- How big is the Praseodymium Oxide market?

China dominates global exports of praseodymium oxide, accounting for the vast majority of international supply, while the United States, Japan, and Germany are the largest importers, primarily for use in high-performance magnets and catalysts. Imports by the U.S. and EU members have remained relatively stable since 2022, despite volatility in praseodymium oxide prices driven by rare earth supply constraints and tightening export controls from China.

About Praseodymium Oxide

Praseodymium oxide (Pr₆O₁₁) is a dark green to black, odorless, crystalline solid that is non-volatile and thermally stable, with a melting point above 2180 °C. It is an inorganic rare-earth metal oxide, classified as a mixed-valence oxide of praseodymium (containing both Pr³⁺ and Pr⁴⁺). Primarily used as a precursor material, it serves as a key intermediate in the production of praseodymium-based catalysts, specialty glasses, and permanent magnets. Its principal applications are in optical coatings, ceramic colorants (especially yellow–green pigments for glass and enamel), and as a dopant in solid oxide fuel cell electrolytes and high-performance ceramics.

One of the lanthanide oxides, praseodymium is classified in the periodic table as a rare earth oxide. It's not used extensively in ceramics but is used in yellow stains with zirconium silicate. This oxide is slightly soluble in water and is very toxic.
