Sodium methylparaben Market share- How big is the Sodium methylparaben market?

China and India are the leading exporters of Sodium methylparaben, collectively accounting for the majority of global shipments, while the United States, Germany, and South Korea represent the largest importing markets. Sodium methylparaben prices have remained relatively stable amid consistent demand from pharmaceutical and cosmetic manufacturers. Export volumes from China have edged upward over the past two years, while Indian exports have plateaued, and U.S. imports have shown modest growth—reflecting sustained formulation activity in regulated end-use sectors.

About Sodium methylparaben

Sodium methylparaben is a white to off-white crystalline powder, odorless or with a faint characteristic odor, and moderately soluble in water. It is the sodium salt of methylparaben (methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate) and is classified as an aromatic organic compound and preservative derivative. Primarily used as a mild, water-soluble antimicrobial agent, it functions as a preservative in personal care products, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical formulations. Its main commercial applications are in aqueous-based systems—including lotions, shampoos, and injectable drug preparations—where pH stability and solubility are advantageous over the parent acid form.
