Its principal applications are in personal care and cosmetic products—including shampoos, conditioners, lotions, and liquid soaps—where it provides broad-spectrum protection against bacteria, yeasts, and molds. It is not typically employed as a chemical intermediate in large-scale industrial synthesis of agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, or polymers.
