About Poly(1,2-dihydro-2,2,4-trimethylquinoline)

Poly(1,2-dihydro-2,2,4-trimethylquinoline) is a viscous, amber-to-brown liquid or semi-solid at room temperature, with low volatility and no sharply defined melting or boiling point due to its polymeric nature. It is classified as a synthetic polymer derived from the condensation of 1,2-dihydro-2,2,4-trimethylquinoline monomer and functions primarily as an antioxidant additive. Industrially, it is used as a stabilizer in rubber and elastomer formulations to inhibit oxidative degradation during processing and service life. Its principal applications are in tires, mechanical rubber goods, and industrial hoses—typically incorporated alongside other antioxidants such as TMQ or IPPD. It is not employed as a chemical intermediate but rather as a functional performance additive in polymer compounding.

Antioxidant, stabilizer, or polymerizationinhibitor.
