Ammonium chloride Market share- How big is the Ammonium chloride market?

China and India are the leading exporters of ammonium chloride, accounting for a substantial majority of global shipments, while the United States, Germany, and South Korea are among the top importers. These importing countries rely heavily on Asian suppliers to meet industrial demand in sectors such as metalworking, batteries, and pharmaceuticals. Recent data shows relative stability in export volumes from China and India, though fluctuations in Ammonium chloride prices have accompanied shifts in downstream demand and regional regulatory adjustments.

About Ammonium chloride

Ammonium chloride is a white, crystalline solid with a faint, characteristic ammoniacal odor; it is non-volatile, highly soluble in water, and decomposes before melting (sublimes at approximately 340 °C). It is an inorganic ionic compound, classified as a salt of ammonia and hydrochloric acid. Industrially, it serves primarily as a nitrogen source in fertilizers and as a flux in metalworking—especially for galvanizing and soldering—where it removes oxide layers from metals. It is also used as an electrolyte in dry-cell batteries and as a raw material or pH-adjusting agent in the production of other ammonium salts, pharmaceuticals, and certain dyes.

Manufacture of dry cell batteries; component of fluxes in zinc and tin plating; fume is evolved in galvanizing operations; mordant in dyeing and printing; fertilizer; hardener for formaldehyde-based adhesives
Colorless cubic crystals or white crystals. Taste salty and slightly bitter. Soluble in water, liquid ammonia, slightly soluble in alcohol, insoluble in acetone and ether.
