Top Price Movers
Tetrahydrofuran recorded the strongest gain in today’s market, rising nearly 15% day-on-day. The sharp rebound was mainly driven by supply adjustments among major producers and active replenishment demand from downstream PTMEG and spandex sectors. Although weekly prices remain lower, the strong daily recovery suggests that short-term market sentiment has improved and supply availability remains relatively tight.
Sodium hypochlorite posted the second-largest gain of the day as seasonal demand from water treatment and disinfectant applications improved. Tight spot supply in several regional markets and active restocking by downstream users provided additional price support. Weekly and monthly indicators also turned positive, indicating gradually improving market fundamentals.
Sulfur experienced the largest decline among major commodities, falling more than 5% on the day as downstream fertilizer demand weakened and market inventories increased. Despite the recent correction, monthly prices remain over 24% higher, indicating that earlier supply tightness and strong seasonal demand had previously pushed the market to elevated levels.
