Epichlorohydrin Market share- How big is the Epichlorohydrin market?

China and the United States are the leading exporters of Epichlorohydrin, accounting for a substantial share of global supply, while Germany, South Korea, and India represent the largest importers. Epichlorohydrin prices have remained sensitive to feedstock costs and regional demand shifts, particularly in epoxy resin manufacturing hubs. Exports from China have expanded steadily over the past three years, while U.S. exports have stabilized, and European imports have shown modest growth amid tightening environmental regulations.

About Epichlorohydrin

Epichlorohydrin is a colorless, volatile liquid with a pungent, chloroform-like odor and moderate water solubility. It is a reactive organochlorine compound classified as a halogenated epoxide and widely used as a chemical intermediate. Its primary industrial application is in the production of epoxy resins—particularly bisphenol-A-based epoxy resins—used extensively in coatings, adhesives, composites, and electrical laminates. It also serves as a key building block for synthetic glycerin, elastomers (e.g., epichlorohydrin rubber), and water-treatment polymers such as polyamine-epichlorohydrin condensates. Typical end-use sectors include construction, automotive, electronics, and pulp and paper.

Epichlorohydrin is mainly used in the production of epoxy resins. It was also used as a solvent for paints, varnishes, lacquers, cellulose esters and ethers, and gums. Epichlorohydrin was historically used as an insecticide fumigant.

This chemical is included in Basic Chemicals - Propylene Industry. See more about what is Epichlorohydrin and Epichlorohydrin SDS information.
