Daily Chemical Market Price Overview — October 26, 2026
The Monday board after the weekend restatement:
728 lines scanned, tables printing the movers, drifters and frozen premiums the scan surfaced (maximum one hundred lines per category, ranked by movement). The scoreboard reads
133 lines moved — 81 higher against 52 lower — and 595 frozen, 81.7% of the feed without a new bid or ask. Before any of the prints are read as market, the file needs its housekeeping done:
86 cells carry an October 25 number different from the level the October 23 edition published — the weekend quietly re-marked the books (sodium iodide from CNY 196,500 to 44,750, p-toluidine from 13,100 to 16,000, naphtha light-alkylate from 8,800 to 9,700 among the loudest) — and
20 prints above one percent simply restored Friday's published level, trading the gap the restatement opened rather than trading the market. Of the
36 prints at ten percent or more in a day, 15 carry a weekly clock that contradicts them or sit on a rewritten base: basic cupric carbonate +527.78%, sodium metasilicate +128.57%, 1-dodecanol +93.19%, trimethylbenzoyl chloride +65.22%, lambda-cyhalothric acid -37.54%, benzotrifluoride +35.00% — the fine-chemicals tail resetting quotes, not finding buyers. Pivalic acid's -25.47% belongs to that correction class (card three below tells the round trip), and anthracite's -10.00% unwinds October 23's base event into a genuinely softening coal complex. Strip the restatements and the honest headline of the session is:
liquid argon +20.00% to CNY 1,200/ton (weekly +29.45%, monthly +61.43%),
3-hydroxybenzoic acid +19.05%,
diethanolisopropanolamine -17.51%,
sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate -15.00%,
sebacic acid -12.81%,
dibasic ester +10.26%, then the commodity shelf that actually matters:
acetone +5.75% to CNY 8,950/ton against a +6.70% week,
phenol +4.76%,
LNG +5.45%,
asphalt +5.46%,
propylene +4.00% to CNY 11,001/ton,
dichloromethane +4.39%,
WTI flat at USD 104 (the sheet re-locked last Friday while settlements fell Monday),
formic acid holding CNY 2,300/ton after its two-session run,
nickel -0.63% and
lithium carbonate frozen at CNY 98,000 against a futures board that rallied 1.58%.
Three forces shaped the session. First,
the supply-shutdown complex printed the day's real gains: phenol-acetone units at 72% utilization after October's maintenance wave (roughly 48,200 tons of lost acetone output, Jiangyin port stocks drawn from 24,500 to 19,500 tons) sent acetone +5.75%, phenol +4.76% and Bisphenol A +2.99% up in one direction for the first time this window; liquid argon, a byproduct of air-separation units running at 63.6% nationally, printed +20% on the board and +61% on the month against regional cash gains above 40% since October 8. Second,
the barrel paused but the derivative shelf did not follow it down: WTI settled back Monday (USD 101.76, -1.46%) as Qatari mediators reached Tehran and Saudi-Turkey-Pakistan-Iran contacts continued, yet the sheet holds USD 104 from Friday's re-lock, and the domestic olefin-plastics line — propylene +4.00%, styrene +2.47%, PVC +3.07%, LLDPE +2.31% — printed up anyway on its own supply arithmetic (PVC run rates at 59.8%, a five-year low). Third,
the coal shelf delivered the markdown the correction masks: anthracite's -10% is the give-back of October 23's base event, but it lands on a genuinely softening complex — Dalian coking coal's -5.6% two-session crash on the 19th, NDRC/NEA production-recovery meetings, and Fenwei's Q4 outlook of supply resumption and Mongolian cutover recovery. The correction and the cycle happen to point the same way this week; that coincidence should not be read as confirmation.
Top Price Movers
Liquid argon rose 20.00% to CNY 1,200/ton from CNY 1,000/ton — the board's largest weekly-confirmed gain (weekly +29.45%, monthly +61.43%) and the rare line where the tracked sheet trails the regional cash market rather than distorting it. The external frame is dated and documented: as of October 20 Northeast China liquid argon quoted around CNY 2,540/ton and East China around CNY 3,057/ton, up 38.3% and 49.4% respectively from October 8, on post-holiday restocking arriving against an air-separation fleet run at 63.60% capacity across 245 tracked producers (Longzhong), weekly liquid-argon output down 1.36% to 58,800 tons, and northern export orders diverting domestic availability. The supply mechanism is structural: argon is a byproduct whose availability is hostage to oxygen-nitrogen loads, and weak steel demand plus low refinery runs have held those loads down; demand, meanwhile, has found a new buyer in semiconductor fabrication — plasma deposition, etch, and liquid-argon droplet cleaning of the most delicate chip structures. The economics inside that mismatch are extreme: argon's marginal feedstock cost is air, so Longzhong put weekly liquid-argon profit at CNY 1,712/ton as of October 15, +45.36% on the week. Against that, the tracked line's October 25 cell was restated from the 930 printed on October 23 to 1,000 — a small base event inside a large real move, disclosed and netted: the direction is confirmed by every external quote on the file.
Rose 20.00% to CNY 1,200/ton — the board's cleanest squeeze and its most asymmetric: near-zero marginal cost means the whole +61% month is margin, while ASU loads (63.6%) cap supply response. The tracked line lags the regional market (Northeast 2,540, East China 3,057 as of Oct 20), so the sheet has catch-up risk to the upside until air-separation restarts or semiconductor bids soften.
Acetone rose 5.75% to CNY 8,950/ton from CNY 8,463/ton — a weekly clock at +6.70% and the third-largest commodity-shelf gain on the board, all of it supply. The October maintenance wave in phenol-acetone is now quantified in third-party reporting: units at Huizhou Zhongxin, Guangxi Huayi, Zhenhai, Yangzhou Shiyou, Sinopec-SABIC Tianjin, Qingdao Haiwan, Shandong Fuyu and Lihua went down in sequence, dragging national utilization to 72% and putting roughly 48,200 tons of October output loss against 303,400 tons produced; Jiangyin port inventory fell from 24,500 to 19,500 tons with only Korean cargoes arriving, and Thai units plan November shutdowns that close the import window. Shandong plants led the repricing with up to CNY 800/ton of gains inside two sessions; the tracked composite at 8,950 follows East-China cash at 9,000 (Jiangsu close, +465 on the day). The chain confirms the move from both sides:
phenol +4.76% to CNY 9,800/ton on reduced Shandong weekend availability,
Bisphenol A +2.99% to CNY 11,020/ton with third-party East-China cash at 11,100 (+400),
MIBK +3.83% and
isopropanol +5.42% on the hydrogenation branch, while the BPA industry margin still reads roughly CNY -1,474/ton at 73% utilization — the complex is repricing cost, not profit. Downstream behavior is the tell: buyers waited, transactions came in small lots, and epoxy resin (E-51 at 15,000–15,300) refused most of the pass-through. A phenol-acetone squeeze that its own derivatives do not ratify is a maintenance story with an end date; the restart calendar, not the quote, sets the top.
Rose 5.75% to CNY 8,950/ton — the supply ledger made visible: 72% utilization, 48.2k tons of October loss, port stocks at 19.5k and a November import window closing. But BPA buys at negative industry margin and epoxy follows nothing: this is a cost-push rally downstream refuses to ratify. Watch the restart calendar; when units return, the +6.7% week unwinds first.
Pivalic acid fell 25.47% to CNY 18,633/ton from CNY 25,000/ton — and the number needs translating before it is believed. The October 23 edition printed this line's +17.09% advance to 21,817 with an explicit warning: the acid was rising while its isobutyraldehyde feed fell and its flagship downstream, neopentyl glycol, refused to move — 'a margin grab with a one-week fuse'. The weekend then pushed the file's October 25 cell to 25,000, and Monday's print lands back at 18,633 — precisely the pre-surge base. Net of the data restatements, the market fact is simple: the October acid advance was fully unwound in one session, and the chain never ratified it.
Neopentyl glycol sits frozen at CNY 9,350/ton on this feed (weekly -0.12%), below the ~10,500 East-China trade quote October 23's edition logged;
isobutyraldehyde slipped another 1.22% to CNY 8,100/ton;
tert-Butyl hydroperoxide sits frozen at CNY 10,700/ton on the same tert-butyl platform. Oxea's October 1 neopentyl-line increase remains the dated frame, but four weeks on, the European list has not bought the domestic chain a trend. This is the correction class of print — disclosed here rather than ranked on the board — and the market content survives the data noise: the acid shelf's October squeeze failed its downstream test exactly as filed.
Fell 25.47% to CNY 18,633/ton — but the real story is the round trip: +17.09% on October 23, back to the pre-surge base on October 26, one session past this column's 'one-week fuse' warning. NPG frozen at 9,350 and its aldehyde feed still soft are the two lines that refused to ratify the squeeze. The tert-butyl complex trades on producer discretion until it doesn't; it didn't.

Basic Chemicals: 180 lines, 50 moved (33 up / 17 down), 130 frozen. The up-shelf is the story: after one session of barrel pause, the phenol-acetone squeeze (
acetone +5.75%,
phenol +4.76%), the olefin-plastics line (
propylene +4.00%,
styrene +2.47%), the C1 floor (
methanol frozen with a +0.78% week, +9.25% month) and the chlorinated shelf (
dichloromethane +4.39%) printed an up-dominant session — 33 advancers against 17 markdowns, the widest upward skew this column has logged on this feed. The genuine advancers:
liquid argon +20.00%,
powdered instant sodium silicate +15.38% (restoration-flagged),
nickel sulfate +7.47% (on a rewritten 29,000 base — a re-mark, not a rally),
acetone +5.75%,
phenol +4.76%,
MIBK +3.83%,
LNG +5.45%. The genuine markdowns:
anthracite -10.00% (the October 23 base event giving back),
1-chloro-2-methylpropane -13.33% (restoration-flagged),
propane -5.38%,
sulfur -1.75%,
sulfuric acid -1.16%,
nickel -0.63%. Showcase corrections:
pivalic acid -25.47% (logged fine),
liquid argon's own 930-to-1,000 restatement,
boron trichloride and
mineral oil absent from this week's feed entirely.
The phenol-acetone complex repriced, and its derivatives mostly refused to follow. Acetone's +5.75% and phenol's +4.76% ride the maintenance wave documented in Part one; the third-party tape has East-China phenol at 9,875 (+475) and Jiangsu acetone at 9,000 (+465) against tracked composites of 9,800 and 8,950 — the sheet within a rounding of the cash. What matters is the derivative board:
Bisphenol A +2.99% to CNY 11,020/ton is the one follower, and it follows against its own economics (industry margin roughly -1,474/ton at 73% utilization), while
phenolic epoxy +0.33% and
polycarbonate-adjacent lines stayed near-frozen;
MIBK +3.83% and
isopropanol (third-party +5.42%) confirm the hydrogenation branch,
acetic acid +2.29% and
ethyl acetate +1.18% the C2 shelf drifting with it. The acetone monthly clock is still +0.05% — a squeeze that has so far only recovered October, which is precisely the profile of a supply outage rather than a demand turn.
The chlorinated shelf kept one real rally and rewrote two bases.
Dichloromethane +4.39% to CNY 2,970/ton (weekly +1.47%, monthly +25.44%) is the genuine continuation this column flagged on Friday — the solvent found a third consecutive advance against a re-locked feed;
chloroform sits frozen a seventh session at CNY 2,600/ton with its +10.75% month intact, and
chlorodifluoromethane paused (0.00%, weekly -1.97%) after winter-bid fade. The corrections:
1-chloro-2-methylpropane -13.33% lands back exactly on the October 23 published level (restoration, filed), and
1,3-dichlorobenzene's +8.04% to CNY 15,125/ton rides on top of a weekend base rewrite from 21,500 down to 14,000 — against the corrected books the agro-aromatic is giving back a -16.03% week, and the +17.81% Friday print the October 23 edition celebrated was, on this file's own restatement, the top. Methanol frozen at CNY 4,013/ton after its October 25 cell was restated down from Friday's published 4,017 (weekly +0.78%, monthly +9.25%) keeps the coal floor hard beneath a C1 complex whose margin story is now a spread story: methane up quietly, its chlorinated children repricing unevenly.
The coal-and-acid shelf printed its Q4 outlook.
Anthracite -10.00% to CNY 1,575/ton is the October 23 base event unwinding (that +11.11% print sat on a weekly clock of -1.9%), but the landing zone is real: Dalian coking coal's January contract crashed 5.6% to CNY 1,403/ton on October 19 against Mongolia-cutover recovery, the NDRC and National Energy Administration met Shanxi on October 16 to accelerate mine restarts, and Fenwei's conference read has Q4 prices under pressure with the 2027 center lower.
Coking coal itself held CNY 2,244/ton (weekly +0.76%) on the two coke-price-cut rounds steel mills extracted earlier this month (200–220/ton cumulative, BigMint),
thermal coal frozen at 1,046,
coke frozen at 2,125;
calcined coke's +11.46% month sits unpicked on a frozen quote. The sulphur-acid complex continued its slow bleed with genuine clocks:
sulfur -1.75% to CNY 5,614/ton (weekly -3.66%, monthly -14.45% — Dongming's mid-month raise now fully surrendered),
sulfuric acid -1.16% to CNY 1,540/ton (monthly -8.83%),
sodium metabisulfite -0.46% to CNY 3,660/ton, a sixth leg while its feed falls;
sodium hydrosulfite and tetramethylurea left this week's feed entirely. The nitrogen shelf stayed inert:
urea frozen at CNY 1,735/ton on post-Mean-Dates tender quiet,
melamine 6,125,
ammonium sulfate 1,180, chlor-alkali printing a fifth still frame (
calcium carbide -0.40% to CNY 2,520/ton,
caustic soda frozen at 627).
The metals-and-battery shelf went two ways at once.
Nickel -0.63% to CNY 121,567/ton continued the post-rally fade with the weekly clock finally turning negative (-0.51%) — the cost floor (Indonesian ore benchmark, MHP economics) is all that has held; monthly -4.46%.
Nickel sulfate +7.47% to CNY 31,167/ton prints on top of a weekend base rewrite (31,633 to 29,000) and a near-zero week: a re-mark toward the chemistry's salt-equilibrium, not new demand.
Lithium carbonate held CNY 98,000/ton for a second still frame while the Guangzhou futures board did something new — GF2701 closed +1.58% at CNY 95,280/ton against Yangtze battery-grade cash at 98,500 (+2,000), exchange warrants down to 20,801 tonnes and spot-futures divergence flattening the basis from October's 5,170 to roughly 2,700 in the sheet's favor; November cell scheduling (323 GWh, -5.0% month-on-month per domestic reporting) caps the rally from the demand side, which is why the spot clock on this feed still reads -19.06% for the month.
Lithium hydroxide paused its five-leg slide at 79,000 (weekly -2.81%, monthly -20.35% — the deepest month on the board),
cobalt -0.26% to CNY 232,900/ton, a sixth shallow leg.

Fine Chemicals: 500 lines, 65 moved (32 up / 33 down). The correction dominates the raw ranking: of the shelf's prints above ten percent, only four survive the weekly clock plus the weekend-rewrite test (
3-hydroxybenzoic acid +19.05%,
diethanolisopropanolamine -17.51%,
sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate -15.00%,
sebacic acid -12.81%); the loudest numbers — basic cupric carbonate +527.78%, sodium metasilicate +128.57%, 1-dodecanol +93.19%, 2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl chloride +65.22%, benzotrifluoride +35.00%, N-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperazine +35.00%, potassium peroxymonosulfate +33.33%, hexamethyldisiloxane +30.39%, 3-methyl-2-butenal -26.72%, lambda-cyhalothric acid -37.54%, 3-chlorobenzoyl chloride -30.87% — are quote resets against rewritten or contradicted bases, several of them literally restoring the October 23 cell. The confirmed board reads: up
3-hydroxybenzoic acid +19.05%,
Tris(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate +15.83%,
dibasic ester +10.26%,
diphenyl phosphite +10.00%,
potassium methylsiliconate +8.87%,
4-aminophenol +8.79% (restoration-flagged); down
diethanolisopropanolamine -17.51%,
sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate -15.00%,
sebacic acid -12.81%,
Triisobutyl phosphate -11.66%,
N,N-dimethylacetamide -11.84% (restoration-flagged),
4-methoxyphenol -13.03%.
The ester-and-solvent shelf traded its own inventory.
Dibasic ester +10.26% to CNY 7,167/ton (weekly +5.61%, monthly +8.52%) is the paint-solvent trio printing its first genuine up-week of October — after the October 23 edition logged DBE giving back -9.31% on a -6.58% week, the family has now round-tripped its autumn markdown against cost (acetic acid +2.29%, and third-party plasticizer-board PVC +3.07% pulling DBP/DOP demand expectations up the chain: DOP held at CNY 10,841.67 per the same external tape, DBP frozen).
N,N-Dimethylacetamide's -11.84% lands exactly on the October 23 cell (restoration), while the other tracked DMAc line sits frozen on a +10.58% month — the amide-solvent shelf is data, not demand.
Di-n-butyl ether -10.45% (restoration to the 27,759 level),
ethyl 3-ethoxypropionate -5.64% and
2-ethoxyethyl ether +0.23% (restoration) fill the glycol-ether mirror. The phosphate-ester shelf splits the same way:
Tris(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate +15.83% (weekly +4.07%) rose while
triisobutyl phosphate fell 11.66% (weekly -6.40%) and
trimethyl phosphate sat frozen on a -16.61% week — three esters of the same acid family trading three different end-markets (copper electrowinning, solvent extraction, plasticizer substitute). The reading discipline holds: on this feed, a print that lands on last Friday's number is the file remembering, not the market deciding.
The pharmaceutical-and-agro aromatic complex: one confirmed bid, one confirmed give-back.
3-Hydroxybenzoic acid +19.05% to CNY 25,000/ton against a weekly clock of +26.47% is the fine shelf's largest surviving gain — the parabolin-acid isomer bidding while its sister falls,
4-hydroxybenzoic acid -9.09% (weekly -2.78%) giving back its September premium to a restoration level; methyl paraben chains source the meta-isomer, and the split says the bid is specific, not class-wide.
Sebacic acid -12.81% to CNY 27,900/ton (weekly -2.81%, a second leg after October 23's print) is the bio-based nylon feedstock unwinding its winter-premium attempt with castor-bean availability normalizing;
4-methoxyphenol -13.03% to CNY 59,140/ton confirms the developer/antioxidant-intermediate give-back on a third side.
Chlorfenapyr +10.00% to CNY 132/kg (weekly +2.33%) restores the October 23 level exactly — filed as data. The agro-aromatics' rest-of-shelf:
3-chlorobenzoyl chloride -30.87% lands back on its own October 23 cell (restoration of a restoration),
lambda-cyhalothric acid -37.54% sits on a -34.21% month — the pyrethroid chain is in genuine, documented deflation even after the weekly clock strips its reset.
The amine shelf diverged by downstream, and the clocks agreed.
Diethanolisopropanolamine -17.51% to CNY 7,383/ton against a weekly clock of -20.39% is the board's second-largest surviving markdown — the concrete-admixture and gas-treating amine unwinding at double speed with construction-season pullback. Against it:
1-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperazine +35.00% (the BCS/ kinase-intermediate line whose base was rewritten down -20% over the weekend — a re-mark disclosed, not ranked),
4-aminophenol +8.79% restoring exactly to October 23's 17,950 (filed),
nickel sulfate's salt-mate
triethylamine +1.82% holding the fine-amine floor, and the surfactant shelf printing the day's clearest demand casualty:
sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate -15.00% to CNY 12,750/ton (weekly -2.86%) — AOS, the personal-care and detergent foam-active, giving back its October premium in a single session while
sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate holds frozen at CNY 1,525/ton: the anionic-surfactant book is repricing by product, not by family, the same internal-money-move pattern the aromatics showed.
Potassium methylsiliconate +8.87% (weekly +8.23%) continues the water-treatment silicate line's quiet squeeze on plant-level supply.
Frozen drift, library edition. The feed's non-market made itself legible this week:
16 frozen lines carry weekly clocks of five percent or worse and
26 carry monthly clocks of eight percent or worse while printing zero on the day. The list is no longer exotic:
p-toluidine frozen at CNY 16,000/ton after its base was restated +22% over the weekend (weekly +13.19%, monthly +5.92%),
trimethyl phosphate's -16.61% week behind a frozen day,
2,6-dimethylaniline's -18.05% week,
diisononyl phthalate's -21.99% week (the plasticizer's long give-back, logged on the plastics shelf),
N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone carrying a +17.18% month,
1,4-butanediol +14.99%,
aniline +14.02% (a fourth session at CNY 16,600/ton),
TDI -3.54% to CNY 15,433/ton against that frozen aniline frame — the MDI/TDI complex trading its isomer spread instead of its feed.
Lithium sulfate (restated 81,000 to 64,000 over the weekend) and
S-(+)-2-amino-1-propanol (weekly +15.47%, month -13.11%) are the two largest quiet-drift flags on the fine shelf this session.

Energy, Rubber, Plastics and Other: 48 lines, 18 moved (16 up / 2 down), 30 frozen. The barrel shelf paused with the settlements —
WTI flat at USD 104 (third-party Monday close USD 101.76, -1.46%),
Brent flat at USD 117 (Monday settled USD 115.81, -0.8%) — and every derivative line printed up anyway:
LNG +5.45%,
asphalt +5.46% reversing its October give-back,
gasoline +0.36%,
LPG +0.79%,
2-Fuel oil +0.32%,
cajeput +0.32%. The two markdowns:
anthracite -10.00% (coal-shelf story, logged above) and
D60 +23.15% on a -18.80% weekly — a reset filed. Plastics went up-for-up a second session:
PVC +3.07%,
LLDPE +2.31%,
LDPE +1.46%,
HDPE +0.65%,
POK +0.36% (restoration), ABS frozen on a +5.72% month; rubber printed its broadest up-move since the window opened (
SBR +1.84%,
polybutadiene +1.52%,
natural rubber +0.43%) against carbon black's first markdown (-0.33%).
The barrel: paper eased, the sheet's Friday lock stands, and the derivative shelf kept its bid. Monday's settlements (WTI USD 101.76, Brent USD 115.81) retraced part of a week that had Brent +6% into the weekend, and the reason was diplomatic: Qatari mediators in Tehran, Saudi-Turkey-Pakistan-Iran contacts, and a Hormuz board that remains terrible — 28 vessels attacked in October per UKMTO/IMO counting (at least 11 supertankers damaged), the East-West pipeline claimed under Houthi attack, a widening spill off the UAE, a vessel burning near Al-Faw, and the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve drawn to 282.6 million barrels, the lowest since October 1982. The IEA's Birol says markets may not return to pre-war conditions through 2027. That is why the domestic energy shelf kept printing up against the pause:
LNG +5.45% to CNY 7,316/ton (weekly +7.40%) on winter-prep and the freight/insurance economics of diverted LNG routes;
asphalt +5.46% to CNY 6,243/ton reclaiming its October give-back on northern-summer catch-up before the road-closing season ends it again;
gasoline +0.36% holding the 10,077 handle;
naphtha light alkylate frozen at 9,700 after its own +900 weekend restatement. The tracked crude lines themselves are Friday's re-lock held over — USD 104/117 against 101.76/115.81 cash — a small basis that says the sheet prices escalation risk the settlements are currently granting to diplomacy.
Plastics and rubber: the second consecutive up-for-up session, and this one had a factory reason.
PVC SG-5 +3.07% to CNY 5,196/ton (weekly +4.34%) extends the carbide-route squeeze on supply arithmetic documented in the external tape: October maintenance pushed industry run rates to 59.8% (a five-year low, -1.7 points week-on-week), December-contract PVC futures backed the physical, and the resin has now out-priced a
calcium carbide feed slipped 0.40% to CNY 2,520/ton — the widest resin-over-feed spread this column logs.
LLDPE +2.31%,
LDPE +1.46% and
HDPE +0.65% made it three polyethylene grades in one up-session (Dalian LLDPE 2701 settled +CNY 329 per the commoplast wrap),
ABS frozen at CNY 12,507/ton on a +5.72% month pausing its five-leg rally, and the plasticizer book turned quiet-to-soft (
DINP frozen on a -21.99% week,
DBP and
DOP held) — pipe-and-profile season up, flexible-PVC demand still unconvinced. Rubber's broadest up-frame since the window opened (
SBR +1.84% to CNY 16,567/ton,
BR +1.52% to CNY 16,690/ton against
butadiene frozen at 13,433 and
styrene +2.47%) is synthetic margin math, and tyre-chain confirmations stayed mixed:
natural rubber +0.43% to CNY 19,408/ton (monthly +4.97%) while
carbon black took its first markdown of the autumn (-0.33% to CNY 10,771/ton, weekly -0.33%) — the black's own feed (coal-tar, coking margin) finally conceding the steel-side squeeze. The correction shelf:
foundry sand +30.00% oscillates back to its October 23 level (2,275 to 1,750 to 2,275 in three sessions — swing artefact, filed) and
D60's +23.15% rides a -18.80% week — reset, filed.
What a Monday of restatements adds up to. The correction ratio this session: of
133 moving lines, 20 merely restored Friday's published level and 15 of the 36 largest prints failed the weekly-plus-base test — leaving
51 weekly-corroborated, non-restoration prints above one percent as the tradable market of a 728-line feed. Two housekeeping notes with market content: the
86-cell weekend restatement (sodium iodide 196,500 to 44,750, p-toluidine 13,100 to 16,000, lithium sulfate 81,000 to 64,000, naphtha alkylate 8,800 to 9,700 among the largest) means this file's own memory is being edited — every multi-session sequence in this column is now cross-checked against the previous published cell, not the current base column; and
mineral oil, butanal, tetradecane and vinyl acetate left the feed entirely this week — four tracked lines, including two of October's loudest data stories, gone without a printed exit. What survives the noise is a coherent session: a supply-outage complex (phenol-acetone, argon, PVC) printing genuine gains against a barrel that paused for diplomacy; a coal-and-textile chain (anthracite correction, sulphur-acid bleed, AOS, sebacic) still marking down; and a derivatives shelf (BPA's negative-margin follow, epoxy's refusal, DBE's cost push) that is ratifying some rallies and rejecting others in real time. The column's October 23 warning on pivalic — one-week fuse — expired exactly on schedule. The next fuse worth pricing is acetone's restart calendar; the phenol-acetone complex can hold these levels only as long as the units stay down, and the November arrival book is already empty.
